Our NI alum numbers have now topped 100!
It grows more difficult to stay in touch as the program expands.
So this site is intended to help us stay connected, informed, and
active in the policy and influence arena where electronic health
records and (nursing) informatics are expanding.
You can stay current with School of Nursing alumni news
and stay in touch with your colleagues via the alumni email list.
If you don't think you are getting the current nursing informatics alumni mail (via the
list), just email Dr. Goodwin and provide her with your current contact information to be updated on the NI list.
Here is a quote from Dr. Goodwin's email (August 2005) used with
permission: "Guess who I ran into today at the IS budget
subcommittee meeting doing a proposal presentation...Mac! Turns
out he's working here [with us] as a vendor project manager for the
CareVue product. I'm going to snag him for coffee and get myself
involved. I thought you might like to know that the Duke
Informatics world is getting smaller as more of us get out and
about. Robert is becoming my new best friend over our OneStaff
application rollout. Chatted with Kathy by phone yesterday, with
MaryBeth via email, and Brenda is coming to stay with us for a week in
September! Thanks for encouraging us all to stay in
touch..." Note that Shirley, the author, is in
MA, Mac is in GA, Robert and Mary Beth are in TX, Kathy is in SC, and
Brenda is in Canada!
